#DiscworldRPG: The quickstart was nice enough, I guess, and it’s a far better use of time than watching The Watch. The writers and artists clearly have a grasp of the setting. The system, OTOH, is very light and loose, and less an odd fit than GURPS: players roll a d4/d6/d10/d12 (GM’s choice, depending on difficulty) vs the GM’s d8 to resolve tasks, and there’s not much to the mechanics beyond that. The d8 thing, BTW, is a nice nod to the canon. (9/25)

Habe mich entschieden, das #discworldrpg nicht zu backen. Ich liebe die Scheibenwelt, ich habe sogar das GURPS-Settingband hier stehen. Aber abgesehen von FOMO kann ich mir keinen Kaufgrund nennen. Ich bin außerdem mit der deutsche Übersetzung aufgewachsen, mit den englischen Begriffen werde ich einerseits wenig anfangen können, andererseits habe ich kein Vertrauen in moderne deutsche Lokalisierungen. Ich hol's mir, wenn es taugt und rausgekommen ist. #pnpde #ttrpg #scheibenwelt #discworld

So the #DiscworldRPG #kickstarter launched this morning, and managed to smash it's goal within minutes of launching. And looks like it's about to exhaust all of it's stretch goals at some point today. 😀

@jamesmullen It’s been a very long time since I got excited about a new licensed #TTRPG. There are far too many which are just “System I dislike and/or know inside out tuned a little to the setting” but #DiscworldRPG sounds genuinely useful and good.
