I’m currently reading another #Discworld #book by #TerryPratchett. I’m on to Guards! Guards! which is about the #NightWatch, what passes for the police in the city of #AnkhMorpork. What I love about Pratchett is how he smuggles contemporary cultural references into that world. For instance, the entrance of the Watch House has the motto FABRICATI DIEM, PVNC on it. It took me a moment to work it out (I got confused by the “V”) but then I burst out laughing. Bravo.

In Sir Terry Pratchett's discworld, the Ankh Morpork college of the Guild of Assassins was agreed to provide an excellent general (and specific) education.
(See Pyramids, etc)
They learned a lot about cuts, but were untroubled by them.
