I found this little converter utility from the old #Cakewalk .wrk files to standard MIDI files .mid. I could retrieve my compositions dating back from 1996-1998 and import them in Logic Pro 😍 I still have the MIDI rig I had a the time (#Proteus/2 and #GEM #S2), so I only have to tweak some details to get results that are quite similar to what I listened back then. Hey BandLab. When you sunsetted Cakewalk By BandLab, I was told I would have the same experience with the base tier of Cakewalk Sonar.

I just installed it and I'm already seeing several features moved to the membership tier.

Anybody have any thoughts on a USB audio interface? Windows no longer sees my Akia EIE and #Cakewalk doesn't like ASIO4All and it won't pick up the MIDI either so I think a new interface is required - 2 in/ 2 out minimum and I'm running everything through a 4 bus desk.

Cakewalk Sonar replaced Cakewalk. It is now a subscription and no longer free. This is for creating MIDI music.

Discovered this free DAW plugin manager. I've been looking for something like this for a while. I am pleased to say it works really well and clawed back 26GB of space on my internal drive!
It doesn't delete the plugin, but offloads them to another location that you specify (if you like) I moved mine to an external drive. Plugoff stores with them the original location, so you can reverse the process on an individual plugin basis, or in bulk.

Bei Neu-Installationen bzw. Updates von Cakewalk by Bandlab auf Cakewalk Sonar, müssen die schon installierten Drumtools (by Nomad Factory) immer neu installiert werden. Andernfalls kommt es zu Artefakten (Knacksen)
Dies passiert immer sobald das Plugin eingebunden wird (auch auf leere Tracks). Hab das mehrfach nachgestellt. Andere Plugins machen diese Probleme nicht.
