#LogicPro has an awesome feature where you can export the "second pass" of a looped piece of music so any trailing notes or audio effects show up at the beginning of the audio file. This allows you to make seamless loops - fairly important feature for game music.

#Cubase doesn't seem to have this functionality without a whole lot of manual work. That might be a dealbreaker for me.

I think I will be giving #Reaper a try next.

Just made a beat using Logic Pro's Alchemy's spectral image synthesis. A friend sent over some photos he took making shadows with a flashlight, and I imported them directly as spectral sources. Images 2 and 3 ended up giving me this glitchy flute sound with a sub bass underneath and a strange stereo image I didn't plan at all. Installed Logic Express 8 on my 2006 32-bit iMac tonight.

Decided to try my hand at recreating one of my short tracks, albeit it not exactly the same of course. Considering I've used Logic Pro since the 10.x-11.x days and I'm accustomed to that, it took a lot of getting used to the different interface look and binds.

Here is the one from the iMac. (aka the "2007 Edition")

Discovered this free DAW plugin manager. I've been looking for something like this for a while. I am pleased to say it works really well and clawed back 26GB of space on my internal drive!
It doesn't delete the plugin, but offloads them to another location that you specify (if you like) I moved mine to an external drive. Plugoff stores with them the original location, so you can reverse the process on an individual plugin basis, or in bulk.
