There's rightly much discussion re. #racism in the U.S. However, the extreme/obvious #injustice & systemic #discrimination that are reported are often used by white #Conservatives to play down racism in their own countries. It's a malignancy that exists worldwide & should be seen as a global issue.
One now thinks twice re. where to #travel abroad as #Xenophobia is growing - Will there be need for an internl. 'Greenbook' someday?
One must teach the true events of Black/White history bc the skewed/ white-washed version has contributed to a legacy of deep- rooted #discrimination #nationalism #racism #inequality & white supremacy that's threatening #democracy
E.g. the #GOP wishes to ban #books, limit course content & distort #history itself, e.g. the Texan attempt to replace the word 'slavery' with 'involuntary relocation' shouldn't be downplayed

This yr. theme is #BlackResistance & IMO, the epitome of this is Nelson Mandela.
Although he was imprisoned for 27 yrs for fighting for #freedom, he refused to give up the struggle or give in to hate. He was fighting against #apartheid, but he was also fighting for #Equality & a better world, in which ppl. of all race & colour could live together in #peace
