Enabling #Trump to use their news platform to spew his devisive untruths in his constant, meglomaniac election campaign has shown #CNN to be going down the ugly slippery slope of becoming a mere propaganda tool.

‘What was CNN thinking?’: our panel on Donald Trump’s town hall

Lies, ridicule and applause from a pliable audience – the ex-president gave the audience what they came for, much to the discredit of CNN

Do I have this right…the same Republicans in Congress who want a national abortion ban don't support paid maternity leave? Or universal childcare? Or universal healthcare?

In this rare interview, the normally congenial musician, Ray Charles, expressed candid public scorn for the so-named King of Rock & Roll. His words express deep resentment at the success and accolades and acceptance Presley received relative to the anonymity of pioneer Black musicians like Sister Rosetta Thorpe, Willie Mae Thornton, Nat King Cole and others.

He doesn’t mince words.

#RonDeSantis reportedly took #AdvancedPlacement classes in high #school that he’s now threatening to deny to #Florida students.[He] was even named the “AP U.S. #History student of the year” as a senior'

'The important thing to understand is that people like #DeSantis are attacking #education, not because it teaches liberal #propaganda, but because it fails to sustain the ignorance they want to preserve'

The Black Panthers provided free breakfast for poor school kids. ♥️👍🏿 Today, the US has a Federal free breakfast program. Black people that know white US history, know where that program started.

The FBI felt so threatened by the Black Panthers' school breakfast program, that they dedicated police resources to violently destroying it.

Imagine. Trained FBI agents, instructing grown men to urinate on Black children's food.

I don't know if #MhairiBlack will run for SNP leader and First Minister, but I am full of admiration for this woman.

She's absolutely bang on in this quote. I have been observing with alarm for some time how the UK - England in particular - has been on a trajectory that looks more like early 1930s Germany by the day.

The decent people of the UK need leaders like Mhairi Black and, even more importantly, we need a new MOVEMENT to offer a clear, positive, inclusive alternative to the hatemongers

Due to the suspected, #Chinese spy #balloon incident in the #US I became a little curious re. #espionage & why use #spy balloons? Such obvious & slow targets. Nevertheless, I came across the article: "How Nations have Spied from the Sky' since the Civil War. It describes aerial surveillance gadgets from balloons to pigeons & robotic dragonflies.

Like all #wars intelligence was critical. During the #CivilWar vital essential info often came from Blacks. E.g. a freed #woman who feigned being a house slave, Mary Elizabeth Bowser (a.k.a. Mary Jane Richards) obtained info from one of the most important ppl in the Confederate Army-General Jefferson Davis. As he thought, she was illiterate & had low cognitive abilities, he held important meetings in the open.

African American Women Spies | History of American Women

Black Women Intelligence Agents in the Civil War Other than a very few famous African American women spies, little is known about the black women who gathered intelligence for the Union during the Civil War. We do know that some were former slaves and others were free women who volunteered to spy on the Confederacy, often at great risk to their own personal safety. Image: Unidentified African American Woman Escaped slaves served as a primary source of intelligence for the Union Army. Throughout the official records of the war, however, there are frequent references to bits of intelligence coming from contrabands, a term that dates back to early 1861 at Fort Monroe, Virginia. General Benjamin Butler refused to return three...Read Article
