My Nepenthes veitchii (Bario "Striped" x "Green Peristome") is showing off its elegant elongated pitchers with subtle coloration. This cross combines the striped characteristics from the Bario locality with the distinctive green peristome, resulting in these beautifully understated pitchers. The narrow, tubular shape is typical for this species and makes them stand out among other Nepenthes in the collection.

Deze kruising combineert de gestreepte kenmerken van de Bario-vindplaats met de kenmerkende groene peristoom, wat resulteert in deze prachtig ingetogen bekers. De smalle, buisvormige vorm is typisch voor deze soort en laat ze opvallen tussen andere Nepenthes in de collectie.

my haul from home this time 😋 several varieties of #Sarawak rice 🌾 and salt from #Bario 🗻

the trick to keeping weevils out of your rice is to put cloves of garlic and dried chilli in them 🌶️ this only becomes an issue if you store your rice for extended period of time 😅

anecdotal but Bario salt is said to have higher lithium content than other salts and is sometimes sold as a mend for mild depression. i wonder how true that is 😇

it’s become a little of a health fad so you can find this #Kelabit staple in the odd organic or #vegetarian store in #Kuching now. it used to be much more of a chore to get this 😅
