I know polls like this don't mean anything, but only 10 people replied. Hopefully the technology for pulling text from pictures keeps improving so more people use #AltText

I am working on creating a handbook that describes the assistive technologies available in the FreeBSD operating system, which will be freely available online for anyone to consult. Currently, the effort is focused on gathering and documenting accessibility features for visual impairments, and it is sponsored by the @FreeBSDFoundation

The other thing I’m curious about is #assistiveTechnologies on #AppleVisionPro .
I just talked with a friend who is working in the medical field about clients with a brain injury. Some can only move eyes, blink, and maybe can move fingers a little, but may be aware and awake.
The device with its already large ecosystem of applications may make a huge difference here and it is cheap.

Did a lovely (all female 💪) in-person #FigJam workshop yesterday with the following topics:

- #inclusion #exclusion #accessibility
- What to look for when doing a quick accessibility check
- Tools for doing an accessibility check

Was so much more fun to do it in the same room with the participants and got very inspired by their questions.

Gonna start working on another one to show how you can leverage #landmarks to improve the structure of a website for #AssistiveTechnologies

interesting conversations at #chi2023 that I always appreciate. I'm repeating myself: what i like most aboud academia is that I'm paid (also) for talking to very bright and motivated people. one inspiration today: how the idea of needing to fade out scaffolds from #edtech is actually helpful also for #assistiveTechnologies and users with special needs - thanks go to Brian A.
