I used to think of F-Secure as a company with very clear morals - mostly because of their principled “we won’t work with nation states” stance. But these days, I watch their salespeople target exclusively elderly people in the shopping mall, selling a combined VPN/password manager subscription.
I didn’t hear the whole pitch, but the bit I did seemed to be pure fear-mongering. I guess it’s in their script, but without fail the customer always hands over their unlocked phone to the salesperson, which seems wild for an IT security company.
It’s not a total con, of course, I’m sure the products work, but looks bad.
