Greetings, and good afternoon.
I wanted to issue some corrections and clarifications about this.
Long story short, Sendo and I are systemd-free after we realized how much of a cancer it is as a PID1 (init system). systemd is an attack vector, CIA spyware, and a bloated piece of software that isn't even compatible with the Unix philosophy of "Do one thing, and do it well".
In terms of CachyOS' statement on this age field, it seems they aren't for or against the new it in systemd, and I only hope they utilize the liberated systemd, of which was created to remove that field. If not, they could just pull an @artixlinux and just offer other init systems (OpenRC [what Sendo and I use], dinit, S6, or Runnit). Considering that the Arch repositories require systemd as a hard dependency, I can only hope for the latter. Otherwise, they I'd like to know if there's a CachyOS-based system that completely strips systemd so Sendo can take a look at it (on video too).
Otherwise, we're still going to use what we'll still use (XLibre for old-school adapted to new, i3, Rofi, dunst, Obsidian, etc.), and that's just our prerogative (required is XLibre for content creation, and Wayland doesn't really suit our needs well). We are still using Pipewire, though, despite having tried PulseAudio + JACK again. It didn't work out as well as we thought (Xruns, while reduced, were a problem in podcasting), but if it works for you, I say keep using that combo.
As long as we keep being ourselves, especially with what software we choose to use, all is good on that front (until the ISP's are forced to KYC everyone, that is).
