Last year, #Russia's #Wagner Group killed 925 civilians in Mali – twice as many as killed by Islamists (about 400), The #Washington_Post reported, citing data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (#ACLED) research group.
"They kill people very indiscriminately," said #Héni_Nsaibia, #West_Africa senior analyst for #ACLED. "They see a convoy of transport vehicles or people doing business, and they attack.
'The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) identifies Myanmar as the most violent among the 50 wars it tracks globally, with an estimated death toll of at least 50,000 since the 2021 military coup, including at least 8,000 civilians.'
Those other wars include Ukraine and Gaza.
The conflict has also displaced approximately 2.3 million people.
