Hello world
⚡️ Large downtown outage affecting over 3500 Utilities Kingston customers. ETR unknown.
#FossilFriday and stuck at home because of 1st encounter w/ that terrible virus. Was supposed to leave today for a week in the far north😭. Thus posting a photo from my phone. This is one of many aisles in the Geology collections at @calacademy Here we house one of the world's largest paleontological collections, open to all scholars. #paleontology

Here it is – a small part of the Rho Ophiuchi star-forming region, published today to celebrate the first anniversary of the initial science images released from the NASA/ESA/CSA #JWST.

There's a lot going on in this small region, as young stars are born & make their presence felt on the gas & dust surrounding them.

And perhaps the most important thing in here is invisible, even to #JWST.

Some insights below.

Webb celebrates first year of science with close-up on the birth of Sun-like stars

From our cosmic backyard in the Solar System to distant galaxies near the dawn of time, the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has delivered on its promise of revealing the Universe like never before in its first year of science operations. To celebrate the completion of a successful first year, a new Webb image has been released of a small star-forming region in the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. While the region is relatively quiet, its proximity at 390 light-years makes for a highly detailed close-up, with no foreground stars in the intervening space.

Phosphate discovery hints at geochemistry and origin of Enceladus

Evidence showing that the Enceladean ocean is alkaline.

Big milestone for the project I work on this week. Aerojet delivered the qualification AEPS thruster for hot fire testing. Flight hardware is next.

This is the 12 kW hall thruster that is going to be on PPE. I expect some cool pictures will be released in the coming two months.

#WritingWonders 5.19 — If they knew who you were, would your MC save your life?

"You're my author!?"

She'd be so surprised and aghast in disbelief, or possibly shear audacity, I'd be run over by the bus.
