Watching Star Trek Voyager more or less for the first time. I really like Neelix and I really like Kes, but I hate Neelix and Kes. I was hoping they would leave the jealous boyfriend schtick back in Season 1, but alas, it's season 2 and we're still here.

I know Kes gets written off in later seasons, which kind of bums me out because I like her and think she's an interesting counterpart to The Doctor... but I'll be glad to put this clunky romantic drama behind us.

OMG! Awesome line up for a Friday night. I’ll highlight VOY because Seven and Doc would’ve made a great couple. The writers blew it.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to me or @lxskllr my partner in Trek! 😀

TOS (8ET): The Doomsday Machine
TNG (9ET): 11001001

This was a very engaging two-part story, but I still feel like its potential was wasted.

I also think we spend too much time with Chakotay and Tom being too confortable on the evil time station. It dilute the tension of what is happening on Voyager, which get a bit too brushed off in the second part of the story.

I do like both side of the story though. I just think they don't work together all that well. The passing is off.

Chakotay is way too understanding of mister evil guy, also... The story is way too kind with mister evil guy, even giving him a happy ending. Not to mention the crew waiting more than a century to mutiny. That part is kidda bullshit.

The part where Kathryn laser focus on saving Voyager is good, but not enough long terme consequences.

I think they were worried about damaging Voyager too much, so they made it about time shenanigans. I think the time shenanigans could have been a good single episode.

They could have found a way to just restore Voyager, and then spend time finding the missing crew. I would have like that better than a full reset.

Or they could have reserved the Year of hell for the show's final, that way they would have ended on a high note and not have to worry too much about damaging Voyager.

I think i would have preferred the first option, even if it meant using some deus ex machina. The temporal brigade could have shown up at the last minute or something.

Yeah so...

This ending is a bit too easy? "Just destroy the station and every one get a happy ending" seems like Voyager was not really required.

The whole "erasing the year of hell" from the timeline is not great either. I would have liked some repercussion to those two episode on Voyager and the crew. At least the crew. I guess it would have had more impact if there was something to lose to a full reset, but even then... it would have been better for the episode but not less wasted for the show.

Wow, even evil guy get a happy ending?

Incredible. I really don't think he deserved it, but good for him and his family I guess.

"When in doubt, blow up something."
-- Captain Kathryn Janeway, probably...

"Put Janeway out of her misery."

Oh don't worry, she's doing that on her own already. ;D

Tuvok and Kathryn's friendship really has good moments. It's very clear that it's a platonic friendship, and it's good. (Which doesn't mean I would find Janevok fic bad as a concept. ) (is Janevok a think? )
