Seven, you still haven't learned to knock?

I do like the little talk between Seven and Kathryn at the end. The writers have found a very good character to do in universe FAQ. XD

The two perspectives also fit the characters well.

I do like the effort of Kathryn (and Voyager's crew) to explore and make first contact with other civilizations. I just wish that they would not be sooo willing to play by the bullshit rules of the day.

The double standard of "We have to respect their ways but they don't have to reverse the curtsy" is a bit too extreme and it leads to complacency with a lot of fucked up things.

I find it also stupid, that they though the "brig" was barbarous.

I'm pretty sure they restricted B'Elanna's movement or she would have just... stayed onboard Voyager.

Tuvok is being an ass to B'Elanna while trying to give her a compliment. Typical Tuvok.

"The decision have been made"

Yeah but given that it's a stupid ass decision I ask you to reconsider.

Blablabla diplomatie blablabla...

It's always Starfleet doing the effort. And I don't mean that like "Wow all aliens are assholes and the federation should use force more often".

I mean "Wow Star Trek - the show - mostly makes asshole aliens and force its characters to play by the alien's rules, this is kinda terrible."

Mind meld is of course intrusive, and it does have dangers. Mainly participant confused about what memory might be theirs I think?

I don't think it has been used to fabricate memory though.

B'Elanna wasn't even there. What the heck...

Why do they make Seven an asshole all of a sudden?

"You are ignorant and your first contact ends in conflict, balblabla..."

I guess from the Borg perspective there is no real conflict when they assimilate other species. Except that one time they went into a other dimension or something.

I'm sure the Borg did make some diplomatic nonoes once or twice when assimilating...

"I don't have a choice."

Yeah sure you do. At worst just ban B'Elanna from ever returning to your planet. Boom, violent thought contained, problem solved.

#StarTrekVoyager #StarTrek

"The case is closed."

Yeah sure looks like you just don't want to be wrong here... You seem awfully motivated at the thought of lobotomizing an alien, aren't you?

"This guy is a repeating offender."
"But we brain washed him each time, there is no evidence he is the culprit this time."

Have you considered that your purge process may not be the perfect solution you claim it to be?
Won't you even acknowledge the possibility that he didn't need B'Elanna's intrusive thought to become violent?

And possibly, by removing his ability to think about his violent impulse, you basically made him a ticking bomb?

Tuvoc, shut the fuck up.
