Hi, friends.
I wrote an article on being a Mastodon moderator. I talk about the process, our mental health, the challenges of mutual aid, and more.
It leaves me a little vulnerable, but I think it’s an important story to tell.
If you like it, boosts are welcomed. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
Okay, here goes…

These are the beautiful spore-producing structures of plasmodial slime molds. Which is your favourite colour?
Originally considered Fungi, these Myxomycetes are now classed as Amoebozoans - single celled organisms with thousands of nuclei... not animals or fungi but something else entirely!

There's this astonishing fact that I'd like bookish 14-y-o boys in general, and my younger self in particular, to know.
Women make very small demands. Past 20, if you're above medium height, and have a big chin, and can carry on a simple friendly conversation, then you'll rarely be without a girlfriend. Simple as that.
One of the most revolutionary things you can do right now is demand we feed the hungry, house the homeless, provide healthcare to all and tax the rich.
This is not radical.
It’s not unattainable.
It’s what we owe one another and it is easily doable if we have the political will.
"If more people came out 80 years ago for the Jews, fewer people would have been murdered."
Jewish Holocaust survivor, Agnes Kory, told MEE why she keeps coming out to pro-Palestine protests in all weather conditions, despite being in her 80s.
Agnes also said that the Israeli army's plan to confine 2 million Palestinians in Gaza into a small area in the south is similar to the "final solution" initiated by the Nazis during WW2.

Hey, short film fans! I'm looking for short films (under 20 minutes) about caregivers and caregiving (of children, of elders, sandwich generation, etc.).
Do you know of any short films that fit this bill?
Let me know about the caregiver films you love. Thank you.
