I also sometimes write in Hindi - for this one I got to spend time with Canadian Comedian Sandra Shamas and talked about how she started in the industry and her life on her farm in rural Ontario.

Go Outside Today

I really enjoy writing profiles and want to do more. One of my favourites was when I got to hang out a year or so ago with one of my improv / clown teachers, Ken Hall, whom you might know from People of Earth (Jeff the Grey) and Umbrella Academy (Herb).

@adr "Now arriving at Bagel Station. Bagel Station. Doors will open on your right."
@adr Almost the same story for me. I was 33 when we moved to Canada. Totally unreal. It is TOTALLY exhausting. I have to go back sometimes for business trips but other than that I'm pretty much done.

@imtheq I totally agree. An endless feed of doom is discouraging and many give up thinking it's hopeless. While I'm not always successful at it, focusing my anger on things that are actionable reduces the amount of toxic input and taking the actions I can makes me feel like I can make a difference.

Celebrating what's good is also important. To me "Toxic positivity" is less about saying that good things are happening and more "You're wrong about (doom), things are actually great!"

Good morning! An extra 90+ minutes of sleep and a pre-dawn indoor bike ride and I'm a new person today. Bring on Tuesday! Hope you also have a lovely day!

@MarkTurnerNC For sure. But a weird corollary for me is that if I am feeling that way then definitely I will also attract the drivers who also feel that way if I don't let my own mood go.
@nerdseyeview Been there. Loosened up a bit at work for a day and then noticed all the sick and absent people. Back to masking. It's also the time of year to keep them on outdoors. Not for health but warmth!

#3GoodThings @3goodthings here are mine for today.

1. Weather is getting cold but I'm getting better at dressing for it.
2. I got out of the habit of in person volunteering when the pandemic started and just realized I could start that again.
3. Somehow I found a company to work at that can approach a very crucial deadline with good humour and pragmatism. This made a challenging work day an easy interpersonal one.
