My SO describes finding clothes she doesn't remember having as 'going shopping in her closet'

I'm doing the same sort of thing right now. When did I get one of these?

Where's that? That's grand!

@mckennas @Natasha_Jay It's not exactly unique, there are at least 2 others that I could find online in London that offer more or less the same, and there is even a blog post from 2020 discussing this as a reaction to the changes #COVID19 regulation has brought to the pub industry.

Pubs turning to hot desking to recoup lost evening trade – simpleERB Blog

Lockdown, social distancing, and WFH have become prominent features in our language over the last few months, however, a new term could be finding its way into our vocabulary soon; working from the pub (WFP).

@mckennas @Natasha_Jay And please note, the hospitality industry has been changed by #COVID19

E.g. in the Vienna of my youth, at least in the "city" you could be going 24/7, probably 363 days a year (Christmas Eve, and New Year/New Year Eve are special, these are the days most petrol stations are closed and all McDonald's close early in the afternoon.)

My first date with my wife was actually ongoing from 8PM or so to the next afternoon, and it did not involve going home or sleeping.

That has much changed, much of that "night hospitality" has not survived #COVID19 as the government support literally did not match their reality that well, while the regular hospitality was rather disappointed that the fat times on the government's dime are gone.
@Natasha_Jay great idea! I wonder if it would help pubs stay open

@Natasha_Jay that's so cool. There's nothing like this in Italy..
@Natasha_Jay damn! Sign me up. Freelancing just got interesting
@Natasha_Jay @TheBreadmonkey I need a postcode and booking URL stat!
@Natasha_Jay how cool ... Now, I dunno if I would get any more work done, but I'm sure I'd meet some people, make some connections, and maybe even make some lasting friends
@Natasha_Jay heh, i'd call that a bargain. i spend more than that when i get a table in the coffee shop for me and my laptop, and that's just me feeling a moral obligation to "pay table rent" (often getting more than i really want).
@Natasha_Jay Sounds like a steal
@Natasha_Jay @steve this. Is. Genius.
@rachel @Natasha_Jay isn’t it?! I may share this with a local of mine and see if they’re interested (it keeps changing hands or closing for a period and I’ve only been here 10 months!)
@Natasha_Jay That's absolutely no different than taking your laptop into any pub or coffee shop and ordering a meal and a drink and using their wi-fi. The only difference is that you pay them to not rush you out of the door as soon as you've finished eating... Nice advertising though.
@Natasha_Jay There is one thing they are missing "we will watch your laptop whilst you pop to the loo" - then it would be perfect,
@Natasha_Jay Used to do this at what is now Limey's pub in downtown Norwood, MA. Great WiFi, crunchy tots. πŸ‘ 10/10 would do again.
@Natasha_Jay @wendynather I've been doing this for two decades. Would love more places to normalize it.
@Natasha_Jay There are so many occasions that bullshit in my job makes me want to down a drink or two, that I don't think this would be a good idea, and I work from home and nobody would be able to see me.
@Natasha_Jay
That's a deal!
A meal and refillable drinks could total that without the spot to sit and work.
@Natasha_Jay Honestly, this is a great idea!
@Natasha_Jay I've legit always wanted to start a bar where this was the point during the day, then at night it becomes a regular bar; I had no idea anyone was actually doing this!
@Natasha_Jay Work brilliantly for writing master thesis’s or so I have been told πŸ˜…
@Natasha_Jay There's a coffee shop near me that does this, but only with unlimited drinks and snacks. I'm always there, having a dedicated workspace outside my small apartment really helps me stay focused. And it is nice to have some human interaction.
@Natasha_Jay Perfect if they add "monitored clean air!"
