Threat of Strait of Hormuz closure has been assessed and reassessed continuously over last 24 years by US intelligence. It is impossible that US or Trump could be "taken by surprise" by the current Iranian actions, as Obama was by the idea in 2012.

America controls the information space of the majority of the world, (in #uk America controls everything you see on a screen), but despite this level of control, Trump / US still can't manage to sell the propaganda that the war is "almost complete" and "a win" and "the straits [of Hormuz] are in great shape!"
@petergleick US administration under Trump actively went against the advice of the Pentagon, CIA, Defense Intelligence Agency, State Department Intel and Research and National Security Agency, before this war kicked off.
Trump is effectively suiciding America for Israel and ignoring his own intelligence analysts, and he's doing that on behalf of religious extremists both in his administration and Netanyahu's.

@drahardja It was obvious regime change in Iran was not a goal of US-Israel. Trump now confirms this. You can't do regime change from the air (never been done in history), and the only ground troops US wanted to send in were 10,000 Kurds, which is a force the size of 1 Division into a country the size of all Western Europe combined with a geography of the Swiss Alps, that's about as unrealistic as it gets.
Now, Trump finds out there's no off ramp, war is as good as lost already.
