Science fiction author, social media assistant, and a peaceful soul who wants to admire all of your pet photos…especially if they’re of rabbits. I’m allergic to most furry pets, so I’m living vicariously through everyone who isn’t. 🐰

I also love to boost and toot about art, fitness, food, prehistory (especially Neanderthals), writing, social justice, and occasional amusing stories from here in Toronto.

Photography has changed a lot over the years but kittens are still the most non-compliant models. Photo from my collection, no date/info.

I think one of the oddest experiences a long-time fan of Star Trek can have is waiting decades to finally watch Seinfeld for the first time and seeing like half of the supporting characters from TNG, DS9 and Voyager show up in comedic roles.

Yay #Seattle, and #FuckICE!

We are fast approaching the anniversary of my brother and nephew's deaths.

So I am going to take this moment to ask you all if you have planned your escape route from your house in case of fire. Do the kids know the plan?

Is the battery working in your smoke alarm? Is there even a battery in your smoke alarm, or did the beeping annoy you?

What will you do if your stairs are alight?
If the grandkids are staying over, do they know the plan? Which adult is getting which child?

Where do you keep your house keys at night? Could you find them if there was smoke and fire?

Do you shut the kitchen door when you go to bed? That was what the fire brigade said would have made most difference for my family.

Do you turn electrical appliances off at the wall, especially the ones you bought from somewhere online?

Have you walked through your escape plan? You need muscle memory to kick in when the panic of an emergency situation hits.

Please, if you could think about these things and make changes if you need to it would mean that something good has come from our tragedy. I never want anyone else to have to go through this.

There aren’t any leaves unfurling or flowers poking out of the soil yet that I’ve seen, though.

Every year I expect them a little sooner than they actually show up.

I think my subconscious mind expects a green and colourful world the second the temperature goes over 15 Celsius (59 Fahrenheit), but that’s not really how spring works around here.

Thread discussing how benches are essential inclusive architecture. Many people can drive, cycle or walk but can't stand for longer periods.

It takes a lot more leg strength and complex muscle working arrangements to stand than to walk.

I have limited walking AND standing stamina. My nearest shops are in my max good-day walking distance but no benches mean I can't rest part or half way so it's a painful trip when it needn't be.

Stations never have enough seating and it's often hostile.

The weather is warm and beautiful today.

I need to soak it all up before the rain and snow in the forecast arrive later on this week.
