Sitting here in Mbeya in a small cafรฉ, enjoying what they call a โ€œlatteโ€ โ˜•๏ธ
Different taste, different vibe โ€” but thatโ€™s exactly why I love traveling.

This was my last dinner here, tomorrow I move on...

Last breakfast and coffee at this place.
A slow morning, a warm cup, and one final glimpse of Kilimanjaro before itโ€™s time to move on.

Some places donโ€™t ask you to stay โ€” they just leave a mark.

Swimming pool day with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro ๐Ÿ—ป
The view? Absolutely unreal.

The place itselfโ€ฆ not so much. Poorly maintained, no lockers, messy changing rooms, dirty showers with zero privacy and nowhere to put your stuff. Same for the toilets โ€” very open, very social, and definitely not clean. Hard pass.

I had to use the shower anyway. Entrance fee: 7,000 TZS.

The pool looks old and a bit like itโ€™s falling apart, but the weather was great and that Kilimanjaro view fixed a lot. Not everything โ€” but enough.

Almost 9 years on the move โ€” not driven by wanderlust, but by change.
Travel was never the plan. Life decided, and I kept moving.

No country counting, no final destination.

Just motion, detours, and what you learn about yourself along the way.
Letโ€™s see which direction this year takes.

Countries Iโ€™ve been to:

Today moved at a gentle pace. After breakfast, I stayed for another coffee before heading out for lunch โ€” street food, fast and cheap, just right for the day.

I stopped by the supermarket, grabbed a tea from the bakery, filled my basket, and dropped everything back at the hostel.

Then came a long walk to a gas station, only to learn the booking office was at another one โ€” right between the bus station and the supermarket, where I had just been. So I turned around and walked it all again.

Passing Kibo Palace, I went up to the rooftop to check on Kilimanjaro. The mountain was hidden behind clouds, but I still took a few photos before continuing.

At the right gas station, I finally got my bus times, routes, and prices. Mission done.

I ended the day back at the hostel with a Coke, a cup of tea, and a slice of chocolate cake from earlier โ€” tired legs, calm mind.

Morning under Kilimanjaro โ˜•๐Ÿ”๏ธ

Short night โ€” sleep only came after 2 a.m., and I was up again before 7. Cold water only, a cold shower, then up to the rooftop for breakfast.

With coffee in hand, I watched Kilimanjaro stand clear this morning, free of clouds, sharp and quiet against the sky. A view like that doesnโ€™t need much else.

Another coffee now.

Today is about numbers and decisions: bus prices, timetables, places to stay. My visa in Tanzania is coming to an end, so every choice matters a little more.

Soon Iโ€™ll head into town and face the โ€œmzungu priceโ€ โ€” where everything suddenly costs more just because youโ€™re white.

For now, Iโ€™ll finish this coffee and let the day unfold. โ˜•

Odessa, Ukraine โ€” fragments of a city that once felt like home

Here are some old photos from Odessa, a city that became a quiet anchor during the first years of my life on the road. In this post, Iโ€™m sharing 8 images taken across different moments and different visits, small windows into a place I kept returning to over time.

Back then, Odessa wasnโ€™t just a stop on a map for me. It was a city I came back to again and again, because something about it felt alive in a way I couldnโ€™t fully explain. I loved the atmosphere in the streets, the mix of history and everyday life, the long walks along the coast, and the architecture that seemed to tell stories even when you didnโ€™t know the language. No matter what the weather was like, I walked. Rain, wind, or sun โ€” it didnโ€™t matter. Being outside, moving through the city, was part of how I experienced it.

Many of those days ended with the same small ritual. I would sit down at Aroma Kava, order a cappuccino and a piece of cake, and watch the city flow past. Locals, travelers, snippets of conversations in different languages, the sound of traffic and footsteps โ€” all of it blended into a kind of calm background that made me feel both alone and connected at the same time.

The last time I left Odessa was in February 2022, through the airport. At the time, I didnโ€™t know it would be the last time I would see the city the way I remembered it.

Since then, everything feels different. The memories are still warm, but they carry a quiet sadness now. If the war had never happened, I know I would still be going back, still walking those same streets, still sitting in the same cafรฉs, and still adding new chapters to a place that once felt like a second home.
