Weil es mir heute beim #Fotovorschlag so krass aufgefallen ist, hier ein Vergleich der unterschiedlichen Darstellungsqualität bei den Android-Apps #moshidon #pachli und #tusky. (vlnr)
Moshidon hat ein sehr schönes Interface, bietet aber leider nicht die Möglichkeit, den Fokus-Punkt zu verschieben. Tusky ist zum Ansehen der Bilder kaum zu empfehlen, Pachli ist qualitativ in der Fotodarstellung am besten.

@NadiaHL hi! Ich probiere derzeit #Fread aus und habe manchmal auch das Problem. App hart schließen und neu öffnen reicht meistens. #Tusky und die öffizielle Mastodon App haben das Problem anscheinend nicht. Tusky lief bei mir immer gut. 😊

Since an update to #android 16 on my #fairphone gen. 6, #fedilab is incredibly slow with loading. All those troubleshooting tips from https://forum.fairphone.com/t/dns-over-tls-issues-apps-dont-load-data/130519/19 that helped with *other* apps, didn't solve the problem of fedilab.

And what is more: #tusky runs flawlessly (so it is a problem neither of connection nor of the #mastodon instance).

Anyone with similar experiences?

DNS over TLS issues - Apps don't load data

DoT is I think the issue. Your browser might use DNS over HTTPS (DoH). I haven’t figured out what the exact issue is. But I can reproduce it with DoT.

I have switched to https://tusky.app from the official #Mastodon Android app as it lacks:
- custom tabs for lists/filters/trending
- a bookmark icon
- options to hide stats

Being new to Mastodon these were some of the reasons why I at first favoured Bluesky.

Die App Pachli für #Android entstand 2023 auf Basis von #Tusky in Version 23 und nutzt die #Mastodon-#Client-#API, um sich mit Konten auf kompatiblen Instanzen zu verbinden.

Das Projekt wurde von Nik Clayton gestartet, einem Entwickler, der zuvor zu Tusky 22.0 und 23.0 beigetragen hatte.

Pachli ist ein Kofferwort abgeleitet aus "Pach" (von "#Pachyderm", vgl. Dickhäuter bzw. #Pachydermata) und der schweizerdeutschen Verkleinerungsform bzw. Endung "li" (weil Nik Clayton dort lebt).

Da Pachlis Entwicklung auf Tusky basiert, weist Pachli viele Funktionen auf, unterstützt etwa auch vorgeplante Beiträge und bietet die Unterstützung für mehrere Konten. Auch die Pflege des eigenen Profils ist direkt über Pachli möglich.

Naturgemäß ähnelt Pachli dem Klassiker Tusky, weicht aber bereits in einigen Punkten ab, etwa bei der Funktion zum permanenten Nachladen der Zeitleisten im Hintergrund.
