The Canadian Premier League final was played in a blizzard. Even though they played with an orange ball, it was still hard to see it. They had to stop play 5 times to shovel snow. At one point one of the players shovelled snow while the game was playing.

Before extra time they stopped to allow snow ploughs to clear the pitch!

The players did not hold back through all this. The intensity of their play was incredible to behold. They slid through the snow, they tackled hard, and the goal saves were incredible. The star of the blizzard game was Rodriguez, a Mexican. He got one goal with a bicycle kick while it was snowing.

A large study published in the journal Neurology revealed a very alarming trend: a significant decline in memory among young people in the USA.

An analysis based on 4.5 million CDC surveys from 2013–2023 showed that the overall rate of “intellectual disability”—defined as serious difficulties with concentration, remembering, or making decisions—rose from 5.3% to 7.4%.

The most alarming increase was recorded in the 18–39 age group, where the rate nearly doubled, jumping from 5.1% to 9.7%. This phenomenon affects all racial and economic groups, and among those with the highest incomes, the rate even tripled.

Importantly, the researchers deliberately excluded people with depression from the analysis to focus on non-psychiatric causes of these problems.

An interesting exception in these statistics is people over 70 years old, among whom the intellectual disability rate fell. This suggests that their brains, shaped in the pre-digital era, retained a better ability for deeper thinking and remembering.
