Yesterday, Vancouver FC were right on the edge of a win when FC Supra du Québec literally scored a last minute goal. Which just absolutely sucks. So it became a tie.

Vancouver FC is back in 7th place. Only Pacific FC is performing worse.

If #Winnipeg ever returns to the #CPL, I designed a #soccer kit for a potential team.

Something to remember about why Valour FC, the previous team, failed: marketing.

Because what even is Valour and how is that related to Manitoba? It’s too abstract. Instead, you need a concept that Manitoba can get behind.

So my idea is to key in on the entire concept of friendliness, something that bring’s the entire ‘Peg together. And absolutely nothing is as friendly as a handshake, so that should take centre stage on the uniform.

In keeping with other team colours in Winnipeg, blue and gold are a must. After all, they’re in the city’s flag. Blue represents the prairie skies, while gold alludes to wheat fields.

The ultimate goal here is to capture the unifying, friendly spirit of Winnipeg, the friendliest place in Canada.

Vancouver FC always finds new and comical ways to lose at #soccer.

It’s quite impressive, actually.

I struggle to enjoy fútbol played on artificial surfaces. 😞

Replacement Whitecaps goalie has only played 5 times in #MLS.

He used to play for Pacific FC in #CPL, so that’s cool.

Got his work cut out for him today given that Whitecaps only have 10 men on field.

Here’s the quarter final brackets for the Canadian Championship.

We might be getting a Vancouver derby if Vancouver Whitecaps and Vancouver FC each win.

Whitecaps are the overwhelming favourites to take Cavalry, though Cavalry is no pushover—especially since they’ll have home advantage.

CF Montréal is also the favourite to beat Vancouver FC, though considering all the upsets that have happened—and CF Montréal is one of the worst teams in the #MLS—Vancouver FC could totally beat them.

Forge FC is the best team in the #CPL. CS Saint-Laurent have already proven to be giant killers, so nobody should count them out. Nevertheless, it’s silly to pretend Forge won’t likely win.

Atlético Ottawa vs. FC Supra de Québec is the most intriguing match-up. Atlético humiliated Toronto FC to reach there while Supra is in their first season, and the team is entirely composed of local Québec soccer players. This one is up in the air.

Nevertheless, unless there’s yet another legendary upset, I predict we’ll see a Whitecaps vs. Forge final.

#MLS #CPL #VoyageursCup

I’ll be doing a live thread of the Vancouver Whitecaps game—but feeling quite heartbroken about it considering that #MLS wants to get rid of a team there’s been here for over 50 years.

My only solace is that maybe this will cause local interest in the #CPL to spike. But it’s going to be rough.

Yesterday, I took my family to the Vancouver FC vs Langley United game.

I’ve never been to a Vancouver FC game because it’s far from where I live. But since we were in the neighbourhood anyway—and the weather was nice—I thought this would be a good way to spend a Sunday.

This was a pretty important match since it’s a Canadian Championship game, and the winner plays CF Montreal in the quarterfinals.

Langley United play in the BC Premier League, which is considered Tier 3 on the Canadian soccer pyramid. But you can’t take Tower 3 teams lightly. CS Saint-Laurent, which is a Tier 3 team beat Inter Toronto—and that was a game that also happened yesterday.

And that wasn’t the only upset so far this year. Atlético Ottawa beat Toronto FC just last week. So it’s been an awful month for Toronto #soccer this month.

Langley United did a great job against Vancouver FC. There were moments that I thought they could pull off an upset. But in the 2nd half, Vancouver FC got two goals.

It was a good time with my family. My wife got a hat and my daughter got a scarf. And they both love soccer.

The force is strong with the Premier Soccer Leagues of Canada.

#LangleyUnited of #BCPL holding #CPL side #VancouverFC 0-0 at the half.
And earlier to today #CS_StLaurent of #LSPro beat #InterToronto 1-0. Their keeper made 13 stops and bossed the box.

Earlier this past week #ATO from the #CPL beat a depleted #TFC
#ForgeFC beat #HFXWanderers
#Cavalry beat #PacificFC

#VancouverWhitecaps got a bye to the quarters as holders

Quarterfinals for the #VoyageursCup

#ATO will play #FCSUPRA
#ForgeFC will play #CS_StLaurent
