Cancelling plans is okay. Putting yourself first is okay. Going for a long walk is okay. Abandoning society is okay. Moving into a cave with a family of raccoons is okay. Giving them tiny swords & shields is okay. Do what you need to do to cope.

I belatedly discovered #SteamLink can stream *from* a #SteamDeck, not just *to* it.

Discussions I'd seen generally assume you got a SteamDeck after you already had a gaming PC.

But now I can play games on my ultra-low-end Mac without straining my aging eyes! Yay!

It's a good thing #BaldursGate3 has more companions in the story than you can have at one time.

Because I already lost two of them in the Prologue . . .

Ok, I gave in. Bought the #BaldursGate3 #crpg early access.

After my first wipeout, I discovered it's not actually a game limitation (or feature) that I couldn't pan the camera. They just haven't got around to mapping controls for it on the #SteamDeck yet. So when my character was walking toward *me*, I couldn't see what she saw. 😆

(I'll do custom mapping next time)

Oh, yes, one more thing.

Real-time games can be challenging for me, and real-time 3D games are terrible experiences, for reasons related to my health.

I discovered this when playing #BowsersFury with kiddo messed with my vision and stomach.

Other current games include #DarkestDungeon and and #StolenRealm. I adored #PillarsOfEternity on kid's Switch, but don't have a PC that can run it and the SteamDeck controls are . . . lacking. I think I need a keyboard for that one.

#Introduction

Long-time Fediverse denizen, new to mstdn.games , and new to video gaming.

Been a #TTRPG nerd for decades, though.

I'm #disabled. My wife encouraged me to try #CRPG s as a follow-on as I have very little capacity for table-top, and we'd just got kiddo a #NintendoSwitch.

I got hooked and 10 months later got a #SteamDeck.

Current obsession is #DivinityOriginalSin2 #DOS2, though I also play some #RogueLikes / #Roguelites. Kiddo helps with #ForTheKing.
