If you're a fan of obscure #skatepacking documentaries—and who isn't, these days—may I recommend to you "Journey to the #Arctic Circle", a 2024 film about two guys who #skateboard 1,000 km through the Russian far north. It's all in #Russian of course, but even if you don't understand it there are some beautiful shots of the landscape around the White Sea (Karelia and Murmansk oblast')

Great seeing all the discussion of #skateboarding thanks to the Olympics.

But skateboards aren't just for tricks! They're a nice mode of #activetravel and pair well with #publictransit for #commuting. Speeds in between #jogging and #biking, while being super portable.

This is my daily commuter, about the same size as a traditional #skateboard, but with huge wheels and a low deck for efficient pushing.

The Trinity Strand Trail in #Dallas lacks 200m to reach my office, meaning I have to walk through this field every day. High grass means wet shoes in spring and itchy legs in summer. Extension "plans" on the books since at least 2011.

Scythes are amazing tools by the way. No fumes and only the whisper of the blade slicing through the grass. I mowed a 65m path without much effort, even given my low skills
