About 2012 I saw a video that I still think about and try to find on occasion. It featured a group of young women long-boarding down a spectacular mountain set to a well known, modern-ish piece of instrumental music. Overall the vibes were flowy, dreamy, free. I know it was on Vimeo. It had spectacular production.

Renewed my search because eldest has just decided she’s a skateboarder now.

So as part of my path out of Burnout I am actively restarting activities I used to enjoy, but that I stopped doing for one reason or another.

So I went #longboarding with a friend for the first time in YEARS on the weekend - and it was SO GOOD

I have decided I am done with "you're too old for" and "you're just cruising and doing some steps" ✌️

I was given a photo memory today from 9 years ago. A pal and I were out skating in a remote park/greenspace and I wanted to try some photos. Armed with a shitty android phone and a dream, I managed to capture this fucking sick effect.

Ready to dance. Caught an amazing clearance deal on this 40” Nae Nae from Rayne. Tossed some blue Pig rails on it, along with a little sticker shoutout to my buddy Shane at Lost Coast Longboarding (lostcoastlongboarding.com). I’ve been wanting to try out longboard dancing and freestyle for a while, so this should be a good setup to see how I like it. Got a few cross-steps in when I took it out, and it’s surprisingly quite comfortable to boneless. Looking forward to progressing (slowly, I’m sure!).
