I am unaware of briar, not sure I am interested in another client to chase friends to use...

just had this off sides request to check on signal instllations and realized that it has to be disk encryption or nothing ... kinda annoyed.

right - this is why I still cannot recommend it...

I've been trying to look at alternative encryption methods for just folders or such - but nothing is clean or works nicely.

Is there an easy / documented way to secure @signalapp
messages stored locally on a Windows/Mac desktop environment without the OS Encryption?

Are there methods that force the app itself to encrypt and decrypt anything stored locally ?

The mix of P25 Trunk Recording, Amateur Radio Repeater Monitoring and the other EMS/Fire broadcasts are getting separated from the Kismet Wires ISM Band Moniotoring (315,915,433 etc) to its own set of antenna and splitters...

Current Setup will be split into two...

It's Friday on the East Coast. That counts, right?

I finally got aggravated enough that bots.law links to a broken mastodon account to form my own law bot, with cases that strike me as important (I had half a mind to put a blackjack and hookers joke here, so I'll just do that in parenthesis).

Besides that, I mean, moods improved compared to last week, as little as that actually says.

@rallias I am finally HOME after eight days away, which is about twice as many days as I can really tolerate. Was good to spend the weekend with my sister in between work events but oof, am I glad to be back.

@dntlookbehindu stay safe; when I was out walking on my usual golden hour route yesterday evening I had to detour off the path because an enormous tree limb (more like half a tree) had fallen down and covered the entire path. And this is SoCal; we don't get wind-driven storms.

Jeep repair continues apace. Broke a bolt earlier this week, now discovered a crack in the coolant expansion tank (which is pressurized, so in operation that goes from being a drip to stream)

Got a random work from home today today, so for all the times I’d go refill my water bottle or stretch my legs in office, I’m gonna try to incorporate some of the chores I’ve let fall by the wayside during this hyperfocus, like starting a load of laundry or dishes. No less time working, but maybe better balance

Regrettably I forgot that I only have two WFH modes, can’t focus and hyper focus. I laid stationary at a bad angle spreadsheeting for hours, no extra balance, and now that I’ve given in to biological necessity I can’t fit my head back into work.

Ive been doing something completely modern but dated by at least 400 years!

I've been recreating historical instruments from blueprints and museum pictures!

I now have a supra-sopranino recorder (garklein), a sopranino recorder, and a alto recorder!

These instruments arent even in the same modern key, or even the same temperament (what the notes are defined as).
