I can do my job anywhere. All the tools fit in a makeup case, along with a loupe, and a bottle of the payload, disguised as eye drops. The plane landed and I flipped my phone off flight mode (safety first!). It vibrated and a message popped up: 【URGENT: need one more】. I glanced at my watch; no time like the present. The aisle was already full of assholes who don’t know that taxiing to YSSY terminal is the longest part of the flight. I flipped down my tray table and started work. The raw material is a standard roller ball pen, I chose a purple one from a fresh pack. Most people in my trade use a hypodermic needle to inject the toxin into the plastic tube of the ink reservoir, but this leaves a tell-tale puncture. My technique uses a probe of my own design to push the ball back in its socket, while an applicator fitted to the eye drop bottle forces the payload past the ball. This has the advantage—besides being traceless—that all the payload is right up front where a simple “whoops, sorry” brush with a pen tip will activate the target’s life insurance. I capped the pen, slipped it into my breast pocket and put away the tools. I felt the plane stop and the rest of the idiots who weren’t already jostling in the aisle leapt to their feet. I leaned back to wait until they fought it out. Later, as the last passenger out, I smiled at the flight attendant and made a point of thanking them. I received naught but a feral growl in reply. We all have those days, buddy. Up the jetway; concourse. Bodies, blood, distant screaming. Oh fuck, I think there’s a leak in my eye drops.

Good that the show specifies this. And it should not have to.

Doesn’t look like much right now, but it smells good. Into the cupboard it goes to sit for two weeks, with an occasional shake!
