My house was just inside the path of totality and even with the cloud cover obscuring the sun in South Texas, it was still quite an experience to be standing outside during the totality. The birds stopped calling and even the wind went still, making it eerily quiet. It got very dark for about a minute. Very different from any eclipse I’ve ever experienced.
