I am a professional genealogist from Denmark. My interest in genealogy began in 1995 when I was 17 years old, and I have been doing family research since.

I love helping others identify their Danish ancestors, so in 2013, I turned my passion into my profession.
In May 2022, I reached a milestone when I was awarded the Certified Genealogist® credential.

I am on social media to share my knowledge of genealogy and to connect with other genealogists of all skill-levels.

@PattyHankins @Flominator @genealogy You do need volume in the database of testers for DNA research to bring results. That's where Ancestry wins. However they muddle the picture by using #Thrulines which most users don't realize is based on incorrect trees rather than DNA.
@genealogy Who were George W Colomy’s parents, and what exactly happened to him after 1868? Or better yet, 1861? He was my 3x great-grandfather. #genealogy

Getting responses from #DNA matches is certainly a trying experience. Many folks really aren't into the genealogy aspect or perhaps they get a surprise in their results and decide they don't want any part of it.

Don't give up trying, though. Today I got a response from a woman I wrote in 2021. Now I can see her tree and can confirm she is related to my great grandfather, Ernest Jobson. I have a new 3rd cousin! #genealogy #Geneadons #AncestryDNA #GeneticGenealogy.

New article klaxon!

'Five lessons from teaching family history to older students online' has just been published online with History Australia.

It's all about how we build online learning that works for people with lower digital literacy and why that's really important.

You can see the publisher's version here: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14490854.2023.2171268

Or I've put my author accepted OA version in the Hum Commons repository here: https://hcommons.org/deposits/item/hc:51505

I have an Ancestry.com question: how can I determine relationship between a tree owner/home person and someone else in their tree? It's a large tree, too much to navigate through (I've tried.) And "Tree Search" by surname doesn't help show them in relation to the owner. Yes, I've Googled. Yes, I've looked at Ancestry Help Topics. Still no luck. Any ideas? #Genealogy #Ancestry
