@genchat I commented on historical newspapers here https://edintone.com/newspapers/ More recent reading suggests that court cases and reports of family events especially funerals are fairly safe. Reporters would collect their facts from the clergyman or undertaker. However treat crime reports with caution - they frequently included wild speculation and by today's standards would have prejudiced the trial. #genealogy #histodons @genealogy @histodons #genchat
