Electrifying freight across Europe is key to bringing down the region’s transport emissions and helping the EU achieve its climate targets. Building fast, high-capacity truck charging—known as megawatt charging—along highways is essential to electrifying long-haul freight and critical to reducing the sector’s growing emissions, say the Regulatory Assistance Project’s Julia Hildermeier and Andreas Jahn
Policymakers, planners and site operators need a strong grasp of the costs and likely market effects of megawatt charging along key 🇪🇺 highways to build a network for e-trucks at a reasonable cost and offer competitive charging services.
