SOFICO, 🇧🇪 Wallonia’s infrastructure investment arm, will facilitate a significant expansion of public #EV charging infrastructure along the TEN-T main routes over the next five years:
- grid connections will be initiated in anticipation of demand (and the tendering of charging locations), where possible in combination with local renewable energy generation
- tenders are being prepared for public charging points at various types of locations along the motorways

Most of these 500+ comments are rightfully complaining about the lack of price transparency and easy payment methods on public chargers, as well as price discrimination practised mainly by German charging point operators.
The @EUCommission 'Have Your Say' call for evidence on the #AFIR (the public #EV charging regulation), which is the first step before a public consultation leading up to its review in late 2026, has already received over 500 comments in just three days!
It seems that Germany is finally taking action against price discrimination in public EV charging. Although there is an EU regulation (#AFIR), it was not yet applicable from a German legal perspective. A number of legislative amendments are intended to close that loophole.
