“To understand how all of this works we will need something more than merely lists of components… the great difference between the telephone directory and a Shakespeare play is that, while both have a grand cast of characters, only the play has a plot.” Sydney Brenner

What a stupid question. What a brilliant reply, by both #JacindaArden and #SannaMarin. #Journalists like this are a disgrace to their profession. #Politicians like these revive my faith in #democracy.
I've seen some commentary along the lines of 'will twitter outlast a lettuce', actually I'm wondering whether #twitter will last longer than a Truss... #TwitterMeltdown
Because it's the also season for other type of #bird #migration - the real one, I guess. I believe these are common cranes Grus grus, and they are loud! #Birds #BirdMigration
You know I'm an old school geneticist because I have a sudden urge to follow 56 more accounts just so that my profile looks like a perfect #mendelian monogenic trait.
Wouldn't it be ironic if #parody profiles on #twitter $8 a piece became the business model saving the #birdsite from #bankrupcy ?
The #Fall the Berlin Wall was the historic event in my lifetime (thus far) that felt the most dramatic change in the world around us. One of those moments that becomes the reference, and other things are defined as "before" or "after". It's been 33 years, happy anniversary!
We knew it was going to be bad, but this fast? That's amazing, and by amazing I mean amusing.

#Introduction - part II. To be a bit more specific about my #research I work on (and I'm fascinated by) asymmetric cell division. I'm interested on how cell polarity and mitotic spindle orientation are coordinated. I use the #Celegans embryo as a model, and often take a #genetic approach. #Science #ScienceMastodon #Biology #Genetics
