The Temple of the #Roguelike is now in Mastodon!

Always take a moment to look around the map. Evaluate enemies, security devices, objective locations of course, but also keep an eye out for tucked-away lockers.

From extra medkits to rare crafting blueprints, the extra loot you find in these can sometimes be worth the risk of straying from your objectives.

So it's now official. I'll be serving as the new organizer of IntroComp. https://introcomp.org/

If you're unfamiliar with #IntroComp it's a low-pressure contest where folks can submit interactive fiction story excerpts and get feedback on them. Stories that get completed within a year of the contest are eligible for prizes based on public voting.

If you've been looking for an excuse to learn how to write interactive fiction, this is it. Have questions? Need help? Please just ask me!

IntroComp

Home of IntroComp, an annual interactive fiction competition where participants develop excerpts of interactive fiction, gain feedback from audience reactions, and hopefully use this feedback to release a final product.

Here's the drop part of drag and drop in my #cardgame #roguelike, used for moving, battling, collecting, etc. New cards are dealt to replace the gaps.

Later: different types of cards (e.g., monsters, items, traps), and logic to determine what happens based on what items you have equipped (e.g., strong enough equipment defeats the monster; a falling rock trap hurts you unless you're wearing a helmet).

#cardgames #roguelikes

Implementing drag and drop in my #cardgame #roguelike. Drag and drop is used to move the player card around the board.

(I plan later to add keyboard controls, and mouse controls that don't require drag and drop.)

Just figured out, to get the godot-tools #VSCode extension to work with #Godot4, make sure you update the language server port to match the value in the #Godot editor settings. Looks like Godot 4 defaults to 6005.
