This was an eye-opening read for me on accessibility in/of terminal applications! Now I wonder if and how terminal #roguelike games handle this πŸ€”

This satisfying combo gave me the win! Blueprint doubles joker to the right, Ancient gives x1.5 to each card of a particular suit, and Photograph gives x2 for first face card which had a red token to trigger it twice. My flush scores 1.6 million πŸ˜‚

@Sqlgene you have a point. I was looking at the surface features rather than the method in which they're implemented. The cards are like the randomized dungeon elements, the jokers are like weapons/armor, the celestials/tarots are stat boosts and consumables, and the blinds/bosses are like the enemies of RPG games that require different strategies to beat. I love Balatro, I was just musing on how something so different from the games of my youth could be called a #roguelike .
What is even a #roguelike anymore? Can any game with #permadeath and a randomness element be considered a roguelike? Have people who call everything a #roguelike even played the original #rogue ?
I still don't understand how #balatro is a #roguelike. There's not a single dungeon and you aren't represented by a @ symbol. It's basically a #videopoker machine with extra randomness. Am I missing something?
