My dog is called Lottie

I spent a couple of hours on a call this morning while occasionally glancing over at the fox in the garden, wishing I could go back to bed and curl up as well. Unfortunately, I have to make a living.

When he left yesterday afternoon he was still limping. Looked like he couldn't put any weight on his right hind leg at all. Otherwise he looks pretty healthy for a London fox.

It's important to embrace our identities, especially when so many people will harm, kill, and marginalize us for having our own lives. So I probably charge headlong into using labels as often as I shy away from some of them. So even if I'm not binary, I am trans and slowly coming out in the real world.

One of the things that I have really enjoyed the last few years is making captions for The New Yorker's caption contest. (One time, my entry was a finalist.)

Here is my latest one.

This seems like an appropriate first comic for mastodon.
Getting underway on a linocut while I still have a day here. Sketch and some initial lining and foreground stuff.
Musk has used "Vox populi, Vox Dei" to justify reinstating Trump on #Twiiter. But the quote is from a letter from Alcuin to the Emporer Charlemagne urging him to resist such ideas, "Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit." Which translates as "And do not listen to those who keep saying, 'The voice of the people is the voice of God', because the tumult of the crowd is always close to madness."

The legacy of Twitter is such a complicated topic. It's difficult to parse out its influence.

I was recently chatting with another trans woman, and she emphasized that, for all the bad it has put out, the site has been a critical lifeline for isolated trans folks.

I've read similar for migrants, refugees, natural disaster victims, etc.

Our society has so failed marginalized communities that even this shitty website has been a blessing for them.

Food for thought.
