Due to my contract extension in Brussels, my time off was reduced. So I changed my travel plans. I will travel by train with my new #Brompton across various countries.

Today, I'm traveling in train from #Brussels to #Montbard for a family gathering.

First of all, my bag is too heavy, so I need to remove some unnecessary stuff… A classic the first day of an active traveler 😉

Transit on wheels from Gare du Nord to Gare de Bercy.

Due to the heat wave, I prepared an itinerary following the Canal Saint-Martin.

The place was full of people. Using the canals, a very long pool.

Unfortunately, my transit time is short, so I have no time to stop and enjoy the place. Anyway, a huge storm was coming ☔️

Because my Brompton bag was too heavy, I decided to drastically reduce the amount of stuff I’m carrying. I was able to remove close to 3 kg, with some concessions! I’m back in minimalist travel mode 😉

I decided to extend my commute from Munich train station to my friend’s place. Komoot helped me find a nice cycle path following the Isar River.

@lucas3d I'm thinking from the old-fashioned cycletouring days when one had a Primus stove on the crossbar and tents, etc loaded like a camel on the back carrier, and knew to get drinking water in graveyards and ask farmers could you camp in their wood or field!

@sinabhfuil Yep, I’m not in this mode on this trip. I’m minimalist and stay at a friend’s place or AirBnB/hotels.

My next travel will be more autonomous, as you mentioned.

@lucas3d I don't cycletour any more (at the moment) but find myself browsing droolingly over the lovely camping stoves available now - lovely to stop for a drum-up and feed the stove with a couple of sticks to make your cup of tea and pan of rashers and tomatoes!
