23/04/2026: News from several folk on the Bluesky platform, including @westcountrytim, that the cycle journey counters on the London's cycleways C3 Victoria Embankment and C6 Blackfriars Road were restarted this week.

The counters have been offline for many months, but have now been upgraded with new displays which show today's and year-to-date (or restart to date) totals together.

So my ebike chain broke a few weeks back, and my wife and I share a car. It’s too big to fit in the car, and I keep not having time to walk it to the bike shop, BUT today my wife need the car and I wanted to lift. So, I dust off my old Schwinn, make sure everything works, and… I have no idea why I stopped riding acoustic bikes? That was a lovely way to/from the gym, and it took almost the exact same amount of time (~17 minutes biking vs. ~15 minutes driving or on ebike).

Watching "Zero Stars" and they described Büyükada as not having any cars (so they "have" to rent bikes). It turns out that's not quite right. But it seems gas cars are not allowed.

There are so many daily cyclists in Freiburg that when I see some show up in the hotel, I cannot tell whether they're here for #Spezi2026 or not. Just saw a woman check in with a mud-stained Ortlieb in each hand.
