Tonight Putin bombed the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra cathedral, a unique UNESCO World Heritage site, built in the year 1051.

How much more will we tolerate before we send the devil back to hell?

@randahl Лавра горить. Цих орків треба спалити із землі.

Lavra is burning. All orcs must be burned to the ground.

@randahl

russia bombs apartment buildings, ukraine bombs oil refineries

if russia wants to expand the target list to cultural sites (their aim after all is annihilation of ukrainian identity), i say ukraine gets to expand the target list as well

i don't think it should be an eye for an eye, such as bombing st. basil's cathedral, because ukraine has the moral upper hand here

but a target list expansion is warranted

how about putin's stupid palace?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putin%27s_Palace

it's not far away

Putin's Palace - Wikipedia

@benroyce @randahl Bombing Putin and his allies' stuff specifically would be funny and deserved.

@galad @randahl

bombing putin's palace or other oligarch compounds would cause the russian people to shrug or even cheer

meanwhile genius putin bombing cultural sites takes ukrainian steel resolve to tungsten hardness level resolve

fucking idiot

at this point we should rename tungsten ukrainium

or at least rename the element moscovium to whatever ukraine wants it to be

nah, maybe leave moscovium named as it is: it's incredibly unstable

@benroyce @randahl Very Mara Lago taste, but with perhaps a tad less good frippery (from what Wiki shows).a perfect target.

Apparently his official country house was entirely rebuilt to be bomb-proof.

@benroyce @randahl

I share the sentiment but feel that targeting Putin's palaces, while it would feel great, takes resources away from destroying Russia's war machine. Each bomb redirected to a palace is one that could have been dropped on a strategic target.

Every barrel of oil Russia can't process benefits Ukraine, every bullet they can't produce benefits Ukraine, and thus every bomb needs to fall on part of Putin's war machine.

Besides, sentencing Russia's war criminals to demolish the palaces by hand with sledgehammers would be much more satisfying.

@RantingCanuck @randahl

agreed military strategy is numero uno

but ukraine's abilities and capacity is surging. they can afford a propaganda win with a strike on putin's palace. sending one good message has great value in crushing morale and causing a divide between the oligarchs and the average russian person

@randahl I think the only equal but not as morally reprehensible thing Ukraine could do in response is start giving the Russian people random "fireworks shows" (basically just drones that explode high up in the air to not cause physical damage but still give them some of what it's like to live in a warzone)

NOOOOOO! Dormition Cathedral of Kyiv‑Pechersk Lavra — a UNESCO World Heritage site and priceless cultural landmark — has been struck and is burning.

@randahl

Sink Russian Tankers.
Blow up Russian Refineries.

The only just cause of action is destroying the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow. Whatever it takes.

@randahl

It looks like a UFC fight.
Fuck Russia.

@randahl

There’s such a line isn’t there? By this I mean of wine of individuals who should be packing their bags for hell

@randahl до последнего украинца

@randahl

Russian Peace is ruins and misery.

@randahl Fuck Putin up real hard
@randahl he's got nukes and will use them when cornered, what are we supposed to do?
@aburka @randahl I'm pretty sure he won't. Reason: it would lose him the last allies he has left, particularly China.
@aburka that has been the appeasers' argument for four years now, yet here we are
@randahl
@randahl Russia has a number of historic sites. It would be a shame if something were to happen to one of them. #MobsterMentality

@argentini I disagree.
It wouldn't serve any military goal, would destroy important cultural heritage which has nothing to do with Putin and would only follow an "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" death spiral.

Ukraine's valuable military resources should be spend on military targets and where it hurts Putin and his crownies economically: fossil production facilities.

@randahl

@eliasp @randahl I wasn’t being serious. That’s why I tagged it #MobsterMentality. So we agree on that :)
@randahl the dead are dead, and it seems to me that Putin has been at the spearhead of denying Ukraine any sort of ownership over the traditional identity of the Rus, and this terrible destruction would seem to fit the bill. He is the only Grand Figure of Russia who would be allowed to exist at the end of it all. All other moments of history are rewritable.
@randahl I think Putler knows he can't win, and he's now doing a Netanyahu: destroy as much as he can.
It's disgusting.
@randahl Putin is evil and a psychopath. He feels nothing when it comes to fellow humans.
@randahl
Our governments are eager to tolerate anything. See what Israel is doing to Palestine and Lebanon. It's literally a new Nazism in front of our eyes, and nobody gives a shit. 🤢
@randahl the Russian traditional values our far right leaders love so much.
@randahl @benroyce Don’t know about you, but this makes me want to #standwithukraine even more 🤬
@randahl He is supported by Trump. They both enjoy this. Satanic leaders they are.

@randahl

Yet another war crime…

Slava Ukraini!

@randahl
putin is convenient scapegoat. russia is a terrorist state not only because of the leader. Each of these attacs have hundreds of "ordinary russians" involved in planning and executing. Not to mentrion hundreds of thousands ordinary russians involved in drone and rockers production. Plus supply chain, plus russian citizens cheering when their drones hit residential areas in Ukraine. The problem is the whole fucking state, not just a single person.
@randahl Even the devils in hell would be sickened by Putin.
