Big let down, to be honest
@eve.gd The monster HAS come alive
@eve.gd
It's obvious. Too many semicolons.
@eve.gd Using AI to tell if something was generated by AI feels a bit stupid....

Particularly using Zero Ai which sells a humaniser function to make your stuff look more human created. I call shenanigans, as most of the other detectors say it's 100% Human.

But ZeroAi? The one that's selling you something thinks it looks very suspicious and you should use a service it sells?

@masek @eve.gd

@eve.gd

It’s just like resembling to remove watermarks. Took the tech bros zillions of dollars to do what any basement nerd was doing on Napster in the Oughts.

@eve.gd

It's actually AI's monster

@eve.gd so @Jacob we still need your tool if its still outperforming this :)
@eve.gd ahead of her time

@eve.gd

frankensteins AI monster

@eve.gd

"I hope she can clear this up."

🤣

@cstross

@tarheel @eve.gd @cstross

Yeah. All we need to do is dig her up, make her a new body out of spare parts, and zap the whole thing with lightening bolts. If she's lucky she'll look like Madeline Kahn.

@tarheel @LovingFalloutLondon1954 @eve.gd @cstross They once dug up a pope for a show trial...

@drchaos

Also, the first guy to translate the Bible to English. They condemned him to burn and they burnt the bones because that's all they had.

@LovingFalloutLondon1954 @eve.gd @cstross

@tarheel @drchaos @eve.gd @cstross

Translating the New Testament from Greek and Aramaic, the original languages in which it was written, into Latin was a-okay but translating Latin into English was bad?

@LovingFalloutLondon1954

Yes, very. Bad translator! No biscuit! No!

The language of the unwashed masses in the 16th century! Very ungood!

@drchaos @eve.gd @cstross

@drchaos @tarheel @LovingFalloutLondon1954 @eve.gd @cstross

So ... we can so the same with Vance? He'd love the papal example.
I'll get me shovel. How long? About 2 metres and a month?

@drchaos @tarheel @eve.gd @cstross

Have you toured The Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome? They have dead popes in glass boxes on display like the Soviets displayed the body of Lenin. Apparently these were naughty popes who don't get to join the good popes in the cellar until enough folks have prayed some more for their salvation. As an atheistic Protestant I didn't take this seriously and so didn't pay as much attention as I should have, so I may have a slightly distorted view.

@eve.gd She was way ahead of her time.
@eve.gd this adds a new dimension to your notion of Frankencitations @benpatrickwill.bsky.social
@eve.gd If it was part of the training set, it is now "owned" by AI...
@geert @eve.gd that's a neat tactic to find out if your own work was plagiarized or copied by AI: enter it in the detector.
@eve.gd the real monster was the author?
@eve.gd this is like that one meme comic where someone gives a gift saying "I made this" and then after one panel the gift's recipient says "I made this"
@eve.gd Oh, that's not an 'I' in 'AI', it's a lowercase 'L' -- 100% "AL" -- artificial life -- generated, which is what happens in this passage of Frankenstein.

@eve.gd

I knew it! I saw a movie where the AIs went back in time to win a war against people, and now we see proof!

@eve.gd To be fair, the novel is about an artificially created being so this tracks.
@eve.gd ...it was the Monster's autobiography all along!
@eve.gd cc @Tarah I hope your latest project covered this shocking news!

@adamshostack @eve.gd for this passage to involve time travel we’d have to summon the lich of HG Wells.

So, pizza and pentagrams, anyone?

@eve.gd ah - so that's who was using all of Lovelace's compute cycles!
@eve.gd @davep So she used an AI that cobbled the text together from a bunch of different sources?
@eve.gd @Taffer her team-up with ada lovelace had several unexpected results
@eve.gd To be honest, not the best book I've read.
