Trump admits the war crime of destroying civilian bridges in Iran, and now says he will order the destruction of electric power plants next — another war crime.

Does Congress really want these war crimes committed in the name of The United States?

@randahl

I know that the UFA didn’t ratify the Rome Statute but , if they want to be trust , the next administration must send these guys ( with a s) to The Hague .

| International Criminal Court

The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and, where warranted, tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression.//La Cour pénale internationale (CPI) mène des enquêtes et, le cas échéant, juge les personnes accusées des crimes les plus graves qui touchent l’ensemble de la communauté internationale : génocide, crimes de guerre, crimes contre l’humanité et crime d’agression.

@randahl I don't understand what US Americans are actually waiting for. It's been over a year of crimes (USaid stopping without warning, measles, health care, job loss, cost of living... war crimes, crimes against humanity) all done in the name of all US Americans. They can blame their gov't all they want. They elected this gov't. It is theirs. I just wish they would keep it within their borders and leave the rest of the world alone.

@Mimsybean @randahl Let me try to explain. American elections are largely a PR exercise. And they involve voter suppression to skew which demographics turn up to vote. What politicians want is a low turnout. If they can get that, and also find a minority group (say, white nationalists) to turn out, they can sway the results.

Once in power, the SCOTUS declared Trump immune to any criminal consequences. Congress, already weak from in-fighting, abdicated their duty.

(Continued on next post.)

@Mimsybean @randahl We've had this situation before, and it took Kent State murders to wake up the citizens. Even then, in the face of massive protests, it was only the Watergate affair which changed things. The USA hasn't reached that point yet, so the infant in charge of nuclear weapons will run rampant. The USA is obviously a rogue state. We'll see if the mid-term elections have any effect, but I'm not optimistic. I think the best that can be hoped for is that the gov. grinds to a halt.

@Mimsybean @randahl The path to here is much longer than most people think, in my opinion, for what that's worth. Start with George H. W. Bush, and the invention of the "neocon". They explicitly talked about the US being an imperial power with the downfall of the USSR.

In the 70's, the Church Committee put strong safeguards in place. Then the USAPATRIOT Act (2001), with one signature, removed all of them. George W. Bush built the start of a police state, with zero resistance. Min. is the result

@Mimsybean @randahl Final thought: I feel sorry for the people who voted for Trump. Some day, they are going to have to face the ruined country which resulted, and realize that *they* are responsible. Responsible for all the death and destruction on the world, and all the death and destruction of their own neighbors.

I don't know how they will live with themselves.

@agreeable_landfall @Mimsybean @randahl

do not worry.
they won't realise they are responsible.
never.

@agreeable_landfall @randahl The trump voters will never realise/admit that trump is the cause of all of the damage OR they will say they never voted for him. They are people who invent their own reality to fit what they want to believe.They'll blame the immigrants, those who don't look like them, women, men, whatever but not themselves. That would require too much honesty.

@Mimsybean @randahl I agree, to an extent. Those whose egos are tightly tied to Trumpism will be unable to change. But most of them are good neighbors who just believed that his plan would make things better. Those people I have empathy for.

I think it's better not to demonize the opposition. That's the same mistake the other side are making. Things are never either/or. If you don't see the world clearly, you'll end up with a solution that doesn't work. IMHO.

@Mimsybean @randahl Exactly. It’s no longer just about ‘the Republicans’. It’s the result of a corrupt elite that has turned an uneducated electorate into its plaything.
There are currently numerous examples of this all over the world, everywhere.
@randahl
Yet he continues to whine that no one is coming to clean up his mess!

@randahl

Trump is a child rapist. Hate farmer. War monger. Fool.

@randahl Congress has been so terrified of the responsibility of declaring war that they haven't done it since WWII. They don't care what happens as long as they don't have to sign their name to it.
@gooba42 @randahl Their names are on all of the Defense/War appropriation funding bills. The chicken hawks in both parties love the blood money in their stock portfolios.
@randahl
those cowards have no shame. these need non intellectual confrontation.
@randahl the answer is of course they do including the supposed opposition led by Cuck & side suck Jeffries but will blame it on just pedo in chief if anyone ever tried to hold them accountable as if they can't do anything... But if it was say AOC was president and tried to do something to actually help the people of US, they will do everything to stop that.

@randahl

You should know the answer to that by now.

@randahl

Nothing is stopping any member of Congress from just flatly threatening any military officer accepting orders to commit such plain war crimes will be prosecuted for that crime by the next administration.

The military believe themselves completely immune to consequences, after the torture report - understandably.

So they will ignore all the Geneva Conventions and Laws of War until their fear of the Law is established.

@randahl

USA no longer needs Iran to loose the war.

@randahl

Trump is so good at acting out The Great Satan.

Luckily the theocrats in Iran won't have expected this at all.

DIY The Onion:

Ayatollah surprised by Trump's war crimes.
"Still can't believe The Great Satan is war criming us."

@randahl Congress just wants to get reelected and keep insider trading. They, mostly, couldn't give a shit about anything else.
@randahl screaming impeach him!! really isn't getting the effect I want, he needs to be in Jail in his adult diaper ASAP!
@randahl It’s always interesting when the future defendants cultivate, organize, and prominently display the evidence of their guilt.

@randahl

"Does Congress really want these war crimes committed in the name of The United States?"

Congress doesn't give a sh-

@blackops @randahl Congress? What Congress?
@randahl why would congress have a problem with Trump committing war crimes when they supported a genocide for the last 2 plus years???? That goes for all the western countries that gave Netanyahu the means to do it.

@randahl

Let's toss a Trump tower down... for starters...

@randahl just a small reminder that the US armed forces will not participate in any movie or tv production that depicts US forces comitting war crimes.

This is why the Irish, and not the US, military was used in Saving Private Ryan.

@randahl
I heard Democrat Senators area asking the Parlamentarian what they can do about it
@randahl Is China no longer the country with the most powerful military in the world?
@randahl I find myself idly wondering whether that Nuremberg venue is still available or whether it would be more suitable to build something on the parking lot of Four Seasons Total Landscaping.
@randahl Any member of Congress who does not oppose war crimes should be ordered to be detained by the International Criminal Court.
@randahl at some point the rest of the world are going to have to prescribe the republican party (GOP) as a terrorist organisation, they did it to Palestine Action for just painting some planes, then went on to arrest thousands under that ruling...
