I'm a Teamster in Ohio USA.

It’s National Library Week here in the US, and this year marks three decades since I first started working in libraries. Libraries are an essential component to our communities, and we need you to show up for us, now more than ever. https://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/natlibraryweek

National Library Week

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries and library professionals play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.

Academia is not fully equitable. Not by a long shot. And yet it is an order of magnitude more equitable than venture capital.

VC bros sit in the way of women getting to do more science in the private sector. If it were up to VC bros, you'd probably have no gene editing, and no mRNA vaccines.

Our society is a little silly, in that we have a bunch of racist and sexist dudes sitting around talking about birth rates and great replacement theory.🤡

That would be bad enough, except we also decided to let them be in charge of how business and science capital gets allocated in our country.🤡

US Venture Capitalists genuinely believe that they have some sort of magic gift for capital allocation.

That's how we end up investing big in monkey jpegs and "banking, but worse!🤡" while other countries invested in EVs and solar.

Now we're cutting mRNA vaccine funding, while others ramp it up.

Fascists will tell you that women shouldn't do science, that they're less good at it, and that they don't even like it. They should be at home tradwifing it up for some dude.🤡

Reality tells you that women are out here curing cancer.

After more than $250 billion in revenue and billions more in subsidies, Tesla has never paid taxes... that's thanks in part to tactics like pretending $18b in profits came from places like Singapore and the Netherlands www.reuters.com/legal/transa...

Musk scorned “shady” loopholes...
Capitalism isn't a democracy. Spending money isn't voting. Every time we repeat this, we forget where we actually derive power: not by being a naughty little consumer who won't consume, but by getting loud, speaking out, direct action, and making the people who stand to benefit miserable.

COUPLE WHO MET ON BUS TAKE DOUBLE DECKER TO WEDDING

Every day I see little stories like this that fill my heart with joy. I read them and move on. But, oh boy, if I see something about some random redneck in rural Albuquerque being racist to someone, I'll start tweeting up a storm. It's almost as if I was put on earth to make sure you have a bad day.

I'm am idiot. Here's a nice story of love. There are more stories like this than stories like that.

Northampton couple who first met on bus to marry

Gabriel Enyi took months to find the courage to speak to Uloma Igwe, he says.

Beating your child is child abuse. But if that doesn't convince you not to do it for some reason (very strange that this wouldn't end the discussion... but OK) it's also NOT EFFECTIVE. It doesn't do what it claims. Other methods of enforcing boundaries are more effective.

Beating your child won't keep them from getting pregnant as a teen or ending up in prison. It won't prove that you love them. It just shows you get angry and can not control that anger. It's bad parenting.

Since I’m constantly being asked to give an update on our case: the #Palantir lawyers are reading accurately all my LinkedIn posts (and are even integrating them into their legal submissions); we’re now at the ‘triplic’ stage (round 3). That's why I won’t comment further about the case for the moment. Until the final decision of the judge of the Zurich Commercial Court will happen.

Hopefully very soon.

That said, we can announce some good news: we're nominated for the prestigious Zurich Journalism Award (12. may).
