"Voormalig Strafhof-aanklager: ‘ik voelde me niet beschermd door Nederland’

Voormalig hoofdaanklager Fatou Bensouda rapporteerde bedreigingen aan haar adres bij de Nederlandse overheid, maar maatregelen om haar of het Internationaal Strafhof te beschermen, bleven uit, zegt ze in gesprek met The Rights Forum.

Vanaf het moment dat het Internationaal Strafhof het onderzoek naar Israëlische oorlogsmisdaden begon, is het instituut onderhevig aan spionage, bedreigingen, intimidatie en sancties.

Een belangrijk doelwit van die campagne: Fatou Bensouda, van 2012 tot 2021 de hoofdaanklager van het Strafhof en degene die het onderzoek naar de situatie in Palestina initieerde. The Rights Forum sprak haar voor haar lezing in Den Haag vorige week donderdag."

Hungary’s Parliament revokes the country’s withdrawal from the ICC.

Under a special procedure, parliament adopted a bill revoking Hungary’s withdrawal from the International Criminal Court.

133 members of the Tisza Party supported the bill, 37 members of Fidesz–KDNP voted against, and 5 members of Mi Hazánk abstained.

The previous administration initiated the country’s withdrawal from the International Criminal Court last spring.
