I'm waiting for the Biden book that reconciles the amazing legislative productivity - I can't think of a similar period in US history where bills the size of the AJRA, BBB, and IRA were passed, a recession avoided without major interest rate increases - and a war fought by proxy.

Was this due to super-aides who were way better at governing than electioneering, or was Biden way more effective a year before 2024, or what?

If you want an indicator that Americans just don't think much about other countries' opinions of Americans, I noted today that it's prominent in other countries' news that Canada, UK, France, Germany, Denmark all issued travel advisories for those going to the US, the last two days.

Travel advisories for the USA, you know, that "Shining City Upon a Hill".

Anyway, this is NOT news in the NYT or WaPo, or cable.

Canada appears on the page, but only because we called an election.

Robert Pollin at U.Mass calculated that a billion spent on these things creates these many jobs:

Defense 11,200

Save the money and spend it on teachers and nurses, if you want jobs.

Also, you get smart kids and don't die of an aneurism.
