I bought $200 worth of stuff from Costco this week and they bought $0 worth of stuff from me. To resolve this deficit I will be charging myself $50 every time I go to the store. With this extra income I will build toasters, which I will attempt to sell to my local Costco for $200 each.
@malwaretech I am starting to think the world will be a better place once the USA makes toasters instead of big tech

Very burnt toast I'm afraid.
You know, the kind that's burnt to the point that no amount of scraping off the carbon will reveal something you can choke down with enough butter and jam.
Totally useless.

@joeinwynnewood @gabboman @malwaretech WH spokesperson confirmed #Trump statement:
“Let me tell you — when it comes to toast, I make the greatest toast. Everyone says so. The best. Other people try, but they just can’t do it — they burn it, they mess it up. My toast? It’s golden, it’s beautiful, it’s perfect. Some are even saying it’s the most luxurious toast in the history of breakfast. Frankly, it’s toast like the world’s never seen before.”

I'm a big guy who never cries, and there are tears in my eyes as I say, "Thank you, sir, for making the toast"!
@gabboman @malwaretech Have you seen how unhealthy americans are? I wouldn't wish our cooking products on the world in any capacity.

@malwaretech
I know this is referring to tariffs, but is the toaster a reference to something specific someone said or just a stand-in for a thing that's relatively simple?
I'm missing the context.
@jbiserkov @malwaretech I think the random/trivial/absurd part of the commodity appliance is part of the joke. It can be any doodad currently needed but mostly made overseas. What a time to be alive. 💃💙
@malwaretech ha ha ha ha. Too early for this funny.

@malwaretech $200!?!

Please share how you walked out of a Costco only having spent $200 on stuff.

@malwaretech My neighbours talk funny. Does Costco offer a gulag service? Price is no object.
@malwaretech It’s like returning $50 of goods thinking it goes back to wallet. Nah, end up spending $200. Oh, their cranberry walnut loaf is delish
@goldeee13 @malwaretech My husband loves that bread. Have you ever made French toast with it? Delicious.
@JMinSD @malwaretech I haven’t but love French toast. Do you have a recipe to share?
@goldeee13 @malwaretech It's just my own: slice the bread (however much and thickness you want) and let the slices sit out overnight to get stale. In the morning, mix 2-3 eggs with some milk, a teaspoon or so of cinnamon and a little sweetener (if you like) in a shallow dish and dip the stale bread into the egg mixture. Get your pan hot (I use non-stick), grease it and cook the French toast on the stovetop on medium heat until one side is cooked, then flip and cook the other side until done. It should be browned on both sides but not too dark. Serve with butter and maple syrup or jam if you like. This works for any sliced bread. I don't know if the Costco magazine ever printed a recipe or not, but that would be a good idea.
@JMinSD @malwaretech Looks easy enough to do. Thanks for this 😊
@malwaretech Sounds like a plan!
@malwaretech The global economy doesn't want you to know this one simple trick!
@malwaretech Tell Costco you want to see them denote which items are tariffed on the price tags. It can go into their "secret" pricing code book.
@malwaretech Right on brother! Who said the American dream was dead!
@malwaretech this is the most cogent explanation of how tariffs work that I've seen so far
