They want to tell you the boycotts don’t work…except Target has already lost over 16 billion since they trashed DEI. Walmart stores are empty & while I can’t find figures on losses…truth will out eventually. And Tesla alone has lost over 750 Billion.
People aren’t flying to US.
Keep up the good work people. You may not see the results published and they may say it doesn’t work, but it clearly does.
#resist #resistance #boycott
Tesla alone has lost 3/4 of a TRILLION dollars in less than 3 months.

@JoBlakely They claim boycotts don't work but they forget all the industries "killed by millennials" who just couldn't afford to support or didn't want to purchase from those businesses.

Boycotts are just way more directed.

And, they cut employees when businesses do well so there's no reason to get overly concerned about the job loss aspect as these companies have never minded cutting workers' healthcare or hours just to pocket the savings.

@clarablackink @JoBlakely

Yes, economic corporate boycotts are impactful. Encourage all your friends and family to participate, as best possible. Collective actions get corporations attention.

Deny them your purchases and money, deny them source of their power and influence

@JoBlakely they absolutely won't report the pain the boycotts are unleashing on the Rich because they are not on our side.
Same with all the protests going on across America, most of them aren't reported on in any depth, people outside of Gilead are mostly unaware of the resistance and think Americans are largely behind Trump.
@Lazarou @JoBlakely we need alternative media so we can dump the crap
@Lazarou @JoBlakely dont be afraid; people outside are very aware, whole bluesky is covered informations from usa. i cross my fingers for U

@Lazarou @JoBlakely At my crappy remote job taking donations for PBS I talk to Canadians every day. When I take their credit card the recording stops so I can speak freely. I never miss the opportunity to apologize, express my embarrassment, and tell them a joke.

What borders on stupidity? Mexico and Canada

They always laugh and then apologize for laughing. Great folks those Canadians.

I have been taking these calls for years. Recently they have taken on a whole new flavor.

@JoBlakely Right now I'm drinking the last California wine I will ever purchase, because it has notes of Trump in the finish and that bad taste will never go away. (Sorry, blue states, but until you get off your butts and save your own country, I'm boycotting you too.)
@JoBlakely Perhaps we should start saying "go woke or go broke"

@ingalls @JoBlakely

I've also seen the phrase "Go fash, lose cash."

@JoBlakely The "money is speech" crowd keeps telling us we can't use our money to speak.
@JoBlakely if it actually didn’t work, they wouldn’t be talking about it.
@JoBlakely can I please get sources for these?
@JoBlakely EXACTLY! Boycott, Resist, and Protest!
@JoBlakely Where do your stats come from? The last quarterly report showed Tesla still profitable and the parking lot at my local Wal-Mart looks jammed every time I drive past. Tesla has definitely lost sales globally, but Trump just did them a big favor in the US. I loathe both companies, but let's not get overconfident.

@BruceMirken @JoBlakely are you in a blue area or a red one? (Or very purple?)

I suspect Walmart being empty is hyperbole, but maybe it is in some places?

@JoBlakely @ItsaMeWario I have a friend who actually works at #Target who is nonetheless telling everyone not to shop at Target.
@JoBlakely Patience, this will take a little time. The billioniares will consume the GOP rats that they are.
@JoBlakely it ended apartheid in South Africa, so, yeh, boycotts work, especially if backed by governments
@JoBlakely EVERYTHING Trump touches turns to sh!t extraordinarily rapidly!

@JoBlakely

Tesla.

Especially eff Tesla.

Musk is an insult to spirit of the man whose name he’s appropriated into fascist service.

The cars I understand; they pre-dated this extremist episode.

If you bought that idiotic 3-ton wedge of energy wasting metal:

FUCK YOU

you deserve what you get

(climate-wise—which will make key-scratch vandals look like hairs on mosquitos and machine gun bullets flimsy rubber baubles)

@JoBlakely Hit them in their pocketbooks. #resistance #boycottCapitalists

@old_hippie @JoBlakely

I've been tracking the #broligarchs and #mairikkkan markets over just the last 16 days in this thread:

Holy fuck is #capitalism gutting itself.

Which, as historians know, is filled with potential for fascists.

@JoBlakely

The #CEO are terrified of the people.

We are a force of nature.

That is why they wedge and segment us.

When we are at each other's throats, fighting over crumbs from their tables, they rejoice.

#eattherich

@JoBlakely a dead tourism industry in a country full of amusement parks, natural wonders, and massive expectations? Big mistake. Big. Huge.

@JoBlakely i was just wondering how much target must have lost so far. sweet.

@JoBlakely @recursive

first quarter closes in a few days and the numbers will come out in a few weeks.

the rich people feelings graph ain't gonna like 'em.

@JoBlakely I can't afford a Tesla or a plane ticket, but we drink German fritz-kola every now and then. It's delicious. And thanks to this boycotting American stuff supermarkets all over my city are stocking it now. Thanks, fascists!

@JoBlakely we need to remember that no matter how the political winds blow, we have to keep this pressure on. A few years from now, hopefully when things are better, we cant forget the economic power we have and cant just lapse back into old habits. Our spending habits helped make this shitty world and we need to learn from that.

Im not saying this to be contrary or 'that person'. This is a moment of empowerment and agency that we cannot forget about. Lets celebrate this and keep it up!

Thank your for sharing this positive message 💚🌿

@JoBlakely Of course boycotts work. In fact, it's one of the few tactics that have been shown to have long lasting effects, alongside labor strikes, mass vandalism, and straight up murdering almost the entirety of the wealthy and ruling class.

@JoBlakely

I want to compliment the https://www.targetfast.org/ organizers. They made a manageable but still significant boycott request, and also put together a specific list of demands and plans to negotiate with the company.

I thought it well organized.

DOLLAR GENERAL AIN’T WORTH A DIME!

Watch the Black Wall Street Ticker track our collective dollars as we shift the economy. Use the Voter Wallet to find Black businesses, redirect spending, and boycott where it matters.

@JoBlakely And an example from the other side, the Bud Light boycott was pretty effective.
@JoBlakely The only effective way to deal with the oligarchs is to starve them out.

@JoBlakely @cyberlyra boycotts work, but it’s just rare for a decent amount of people to actually boycott something in this age. After all, too many people often choose convenience over morals, see the amount of queers that still patronise that chicken place.

Glad this time a decent amount of people actually do it!

@JoBlakely
The less you have to organize something, the better it works. But it would be a shame not to do it.
