@keiko I had that myself.
Probably not the best idea but I fixed that ruby error by adding:
privileged: true
to the sidekiq streaming and web container entries and it then worked.
I figured it was something about the versions in use & at some point I need to upgrade the server I'm running on as it's an old (now) distro
@peter I saw that suggestion and wasn't willing to give that permission. I'll figure out how to upgrade to a later version of docker.
Thanks for pointing it out for others, though.
You could, but as the article said, it was complicated, and involved copypasting url:s from one browser-window to another.
I also had to look twice. Instructions are hidden when you are in the list of all Releases. Just open the release directly to view them
John Mastodon always makes sure his platform has the latest tools.
Thank you John!!!!
@Mastodon A pretty hefty update.
Lack of FTS was a big pain point for some users and it being opt-in will accommodate those who would not want their posts to be indexed.
The ability to import lists also reduces the amount a user loses if they have to migrate servers for whatever reason. Just posts and followers remain.
Looking at the roadmap there are some other planned features that will address other pain points as well (quote posts, E2EE DMs, choose who can reply to posts, etc.).
@jonah I was not expecting the upgrade to be immediate. This was just a "On the off chance you didn't know already" type of thing.
The only times I expect a little more urgency is if 1: The server is experiencing major performance issues. 2: I'm having trouble logging in to my account (forgot password, hacker locked me out of my account, etc.). 3: A Mastodon update was released to fix one or more major security vulnerabilities.
If I came across as demanding then I apologize.
