Hi and welcome @NamesAreOverrated ! I'm mostly here for data- and tech-related posts, but I try to pass on other information to friends who aren't here. You may want to check out @TatianaTrifan for Long Covid posts
@smach @TatianaTrifan I’m the opposite :D I try to avoid tech (as in IT) on social media… I’m a bit of a “recovering workaholic” so I try to keep tech (mostly cybersec and infra) contained in LinkedIn :D
@NamesAreOverrated @TatianaTrifan Both approaches make sense, but I find I get great tech info here. And like many R users, R is a hobby of mine as well as something I use for work 😀
@NamesAreOverrated In addition to the useful advice you will receive and have, I would strongly recommend a solid client. Ivory or Ice Cubes are very good.
@NamesAreOverrated I am in the same pursuit. I am a soon to be chemist and I cant find anyone to follow for research
@marsaeternum I haven’t really checked but I wonder if it’s possible to RSS research published on the NIH site, filtered by subject/keywords…
@NamesAreOverrated A strong second here for following hashtags, a wonderful way to enrich your main feed. They do bring some noise along with the signal, but the block button is your friend. Welcome!
@NamesAreOverrated it's a good idea on Mastodon to follow these hashtags, not just accounts. In a browser, I click on a hashtag and then there is a symbol looking like "plus person" at the top right.
