@lucywildboots yup! This one, in fact.
https://mastodon.social/@mmasnick/110009135518647973 @jerrygulla of all things, it's a podcast about ska music (the movie has some in the soundtrack), and they've been reviewing ska-adjacent movies, and so reviewed the movie (not just the music in the movie). https://www.hornpod.org/
me too but that was easy for me. what I miss is the opportunity to interact with certain people there, especially when I read something they wrote or a podcast they were on. I want to be part of a coordinated effort to get people to switch, cause a dominant #fediverse can greatly improve the public conversation, making it less subject to manipulation by the already powerful and wealthy. but most others don't seem to care. they think the folks I love there are bad faith idiots.
Deleted my twitter account today. It’s a cesspool over there and not good for my mental health.
@mmasnick I'm still working on it. I need to find ways to bring more followers in. Twitter gets worse every day, and if I didn't need it for work, I'd likely not be on it at all.
Hope that won't be the case for much longer. Seems the company is doing everything it can to cease existing by 2024.
@grissallia @mmasnick and no algorithm pushing assholes on you.
Oh wait, that didn't come out right...
Count me as a +1 😃
Did someone told "Streisand Effect"?
😁
@mmasnick Twitter shrinking to Mastodon maybe?
With spring, it's another good news thanks to you!
Yeah, *we're* nicer but you're the same Mike, what's up with that you should be nicer here too
🤣
Seriously, cool man!
@mmasnick congrats!
MASTODON is better on so many
levels 🔥
@mmasnick @ChrisPirillo It’s kind of the circle of life on Mastodon and ActivityPub in general. Something terrible happens on / to Twitter. A thousand people sign up for Mastodon. Ten stick around.
After a few years of that, there’s roughly one moderately successful social network worth of folks that check in regularly. Which honestly is kind of impressive.
Because of the lack of algorithms and simply being human…
@mmasnick I’m happy for you, Mike, and us 🫶
At the rate I’m going, I’ll need to be on #Mastodon another year or so to catch up with my #twitter following (which took 10 years to build).
I do agree with you about people being more engaging on #Fediverse 😊
