In fact, in The Lancet’s article “Counting the dead in #Gaza: difficult but essential” from July 2024, Rasha Khatib states “it is not implausible to estimate up to 186,000 or even more deaths’

How Hope Outlasts Despair: An Interview with Yahia Lababidi — Cleveland Review of Books

I always recognize you
Upward-reaching, and glad

For #WorldPoetryDay a winged poem by a fine poet #EDWatson

“For the first time ever, I hear the adhan

at our feet: the cleanest things I’ve ever seen.”

In these divisive days of chaos and carnage, I'm honored to have new #poetry appear in the Journal of Bahá'í Studies, a publication dedicated to unity, #justice, and the #spiritual pursuit of #Peace 🙏

You can download a pdf of the journal, here: https://journal.bahaistudies.ca/online/issue/view/83

‘We are pleased to present two poems by Yahia Lababidi, “Wounded Healers” and “Inventory,” each of which highlights the paradoxical quality of the true hero who achieves inner and outer transformation through learned selflessness. We offer this issue to all those who “work hard / in dark caves to carve / space for such a #Light.”

— Michael Sabet, Editor of The Journal of Bahá’í Studies

With much gratitude to poetry editor, Peter E Murphy, for the blessed work he does on the page and off 😇
